More on Plamegate and Jason Leopold

Finally, the transcript for “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” from last night dealing with Plamegate and Jason Leopold; and once again, the newspaper that breaks a previously reported Leopold story is The New York Daily News.

As Olbermann noted, Leopold “more than two months ago…reported that Scooter Libby had discussed Valerie Plame in June 2003 with two CIA officials, including the man the agency would fire as its chief counterterrorism officer.”

Yes, he did; and sure enough, that’s exactly what happened!

The New York Daily News reported yesterday that two CIA officials have “bolster[ed] prosecutors' charge that Vice President Cheney’s chief aide lied to them. Moreover, one of the officials, Robert Grenier was unceremoniously fired as “CIA counterterrorism chief” back in February.

Howling Latina has previously warned folks not to dismiss Leopold's heart-thumping breaking news. For more than a while, HL has had the sneaky suspicion that Leopold’s source is another journalist, specifically someone at the New York Daily News.

And as for all the gnashing of teeth about the seedy former journalist, Howie, you may have to eat more than a little crow if it turns out Leopold was right after all. Rove has already been indicted.
