Graphic and Headline Say it All

The Associated Press headlines the news of Obama picking Biden with the following lede and story thread:

Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence.

The candidate of change went with the status quo. In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness — inexperience in office and on foreign policy — rather than underscore his strength as a new-generation candidate defying political conventions.

With classic timing, Biden apparently received the happy news while at the dentist getting a root canal. Revascularization, that's what the Democratic party needs to win in the fall, for sure.

Meanwhile, the buzz in Denver is that Obamazoids are being as gracious and hospitable as ever.

Yeah...the AP (shocker) says that Biden pick shows lack of confidence. Why don't you tell your readers (me and a couple of other people that like to see trainwrecks) that the Washington Bereau Chief was asked by McCain to be on his staff? I know that would actually require being honest in your posts but I'll settle for this comment here.

Obama/Biden

Answer truthfully: Why did Obama pick Biden? He said he couldn't go with Hillary because she represented the Old Guard. Too many skeletons in her closet, although not a peep about plagiarism.

Throughtout the primaries, Obama and his fans kept telling everyone who was stupid enough to listen that Hillary could never, ever be president and later vice president because she'd voted for Iraq.

Basically, Obama chose Biden for the same reasons Hillary supporters implored Dems to vote for Hillary for president; and if not, at least put her on the ticket. E-X-P-E-R-I-E-N-C-E!!!

Except with one teeny little caveat. Biden always tanks at the national scene. Hillary connected with regular Americans and won the hearts of 18 million voters.

" He said he couldn't go with Hillary because she represented the Old Guard."

He hasn't said anything except sing Hillary's praises post-primary. Honestly, for me, her presence as VP would have been a distraction. The media would have focused on her too much instead of where it would need to be: the nominee of the party.

"Basically, Obama chose Biden for the same reasons Hillary supporters implored Dems to vote for Hillary for president; and if not, at least put her on the ticket. E-X-P-E-R-I-E-N-C-E!!! "

Now we have a person at the top of the ticket who will bring fresh ideas to the White House matched up with a person who has some tempering experience to guide him. I like it.

"Hillary connected with regular Americans and won the hearts of 18 million voters."

So I'm not a regular American? The 18 million people who voted for Obama where not regular at all? Oh that's right, I'm an elitist. I forgot that from the comfy confines of my two bedroom apartment. If she would've had a better strategy in the primary, she could've been the nominee. Alas, she's not. Most have moved on but you can continue your quixotic quest to have John McCain as our president.

"Sen. Biden will be a purposeful and dynamic vice president who will help Sen. Obama both win the presidency and govern this great country."
