Most Legal Immigrants Arrived Illegally

The Sacramento Bee reports that most legal immigrants were once "illegals." You know, like Alberto Gonzales's grandpa.

More than half of California's immigrants who received their "green cards" denoting legality had already lived in the U.S. illegally, a new study by the Public Policy Institute of California found.

What's true about California - which has the nation's largest immigrant population - is also largely true about immigrants living in other states, PPIC researcher Laura Hill concluded after studying the data.

There goes that hoisted petard about legal immigrant outrage when "illegals" are permitted to stay in the country and eventually allowed to become U.S. citizens.

Hell, the only reason Mel Martinez, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the rest of their GOP cronies in Florida aren't considered "illegals" is because of the kindness of President John F. Kennedy who launched Pedro Pan, a program that allowed Cuban children entry into the United States during the 60s.

And that's the thanks Dems get...
