McCain Attracting Jewish Democrats

For all those who are in full blown denial, here's a little link of reality, courtesy of Talk Left.

John McCain is going after the Jewish vote. He's attracting some major Democratic donors, including one who gave $80,000. to the DNC in 2000. Why? Israel.

“In Florida there are a lot of people not happy with Obama’s stance with regards to Israel and regards to Cuba. We’re starting to see some significant people come over. “Democrats who are traditional large Democratic givers are coming over to our side."

....Jewish support is especially important in Florida, a crucial swing state where Obama trails McCain in recent polls. Jewish voters make up about 5 percent of the electorate in that state. Florida’s Jewish community is also a lucrative source of political fundraising.

Indeed, and to round out all the good news today, here's another whack at Obama by way of more helpful headlines.

It seems Gov. Ted Strickland of Ohio, the person who could bring Ohio to the Dem column made it "crystal clear" that he would not accept the vice presidency if Obama were to offer it to him.

When asked during an interview on NPR, Strickland said, "Absolutely not...If drafted, I will not run; if nominated, I will not accept; and if elected, I will not serve."

Very Shermanesque of him, "parroting the phrasing coined by Civil War Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman when he was in the mix as a Republican presidential candidate in 1884."

Oops...back to the drawing board, boyz. WTF do we do now #%$^&*@!!!???

Comments:
Is Obama an agent for the Republican Party? Has Karl Rove outfoxed us again?

Strickland had said he was not interested in VP for Clinton as well. He is 67, he wants to fix his state. And while he might be mentioned, in part because of his age he was not considered by many to be near the top of Obama's list

On the day Strickland endorsed Clinton:

Strickland repeatedly has said he is not interested, even invoking the famous quote from Civil War general William Tecumseh Sherman: “If nominated, I will not accept; if drafted, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve.”

Yeah Mimi,

It's me, Josh C. We spent a lot of time on the Webb campaign.

I understand why you're doing this, but I'd love the chance to talk to you about it.

There's too much at stake that I know you care about. I grew up loving the Clintons and I'll never forgive John McCain for his "Chelsea's dad is Janet Reno" joke. Think about this - in the next 8 years, 6 of 9 Justices on the Supreme court will be over 75 years old. On issues from choice, to constitutionality, to fairness, to voting rights, to private property, to privacy there's no limit to the damage that a McCain court will do.

Even if you can't bring yourself to strongly work FOR Obama at this stage... there's too much at stake to continue working against him.
