Virginia Ban of Partial-Birth Struck Down
The Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has struck down the Virginia law that bans late-term abortion, The Virginian-Pilot reports.
Although the U.S. Supreme Court has previously ruled that late-term abortions can be banned by individual states, the Virginia law does not provide protection to doctors who might unknowingly be breaking the law.
This oversight and criminalization of doctors by Virginia legislators produced the court slapdown.
