Psss...North Carolina Is Not a Swing State
Gotta love how Barack Obama last night characterized North Carolina as a swing state.
Well guess what? North Carolina is about as "swinging" as Mississippi and Alabama.
For the last 40 years, the Tar Heel State has voted for the Democratic presidential candidate exactly one time, 1976, when North Carolina gave its 13 electoral votes to Jimmy Carter.
That was the last time Mississippi and Alabama voted for the Dem presidential candidate as well.
