Webb & Bush - Duking it Out at the White House?!?


Speaker-elect Nancy Peloski hasn't even taken the gavel and already there is animus between a certain newly elected Senate Democrat and President George 'Dubya' Bush.

The Hill reports of a testy exchange between Sen.-elect Jim Webb and our 'presidente."
At a private reception held at the White House with newly elected lawmakers shortly after the election, Bush asked Webb how his son, a Marine lance corporal serving in Iraq, was doing.

Webb responded that he really wanted to see his son brought back home, said a person who heard about the exchange from Webb.

Hmmm, guess Webb wasn't drinking any of the president's kool-aid with happy-talk and insincere reflection about how important the mission in Iraq is and just how very proud Bush is of our soldiers.

“I didn’t ask you that, I asked how he’s doing,” Bush retorted, according to the
source.
Hit me with a feather; and excuse the living hell out of me!

Guess the "Decider" is feeling a little grouchy now that he knows the jig is up; fun and games with Dick are coming to end in January.

I notice Raising Kaine and Raw Story have the same lede as Howling Latina.

I supposed the exchange can only be characterized as "testy," thus we all came up with the same lede.

But...I do believe my post was up before theirs. I just checked recent news on google for Jim Webb:)

I put mine up around 8pm, under the title "Oh, so THAT'S what was on the menu!" in ref. to a post I did about the party weeks ago. (I've since updated with the title, so you can't get to the original post but the title is on the lefty blogs scroll) Then I immediately tried to get it on Kos, and had to delete bc it was there when I was done. Then, I go over to RK and it's top page, been there for a few. I realize later Ben has it up.

:) Kind funny.

The entire blogosphere is just still loving Jim Webb news.
