James Dobson is a Malevolent False Prophet

As Steve Gilliard of The News Blog points out in a recent post, at least the Catholic Church tried to do something about the stench of priest molesting young boys, even if it was a bust.

The Catholic Church tried to treat their pedophiles, they tried to do something, even if what happened was a complete and total failure. Not Congress. They are pretending this isn't as ugly as things are. Dobson is lying to his flock. He's a shrink. He knows the odds of Foley [molesting] kids are higher than seeing a Mercedes in the parking lot of a megachurch. Yet, like so many cowards, he would rather hide behind a lie, a lie he knows is a lie, than deal with the truth.
James Dobson of "Focus on the Family" was shockingly calm about the sexual scandal coming out of the Republican side of the aisle. It was just boys "pranking" with Rep. Mark Foley, R-FL., that's all, he tries to tell us.

Via Digby of Hullabaloo, here are Dobson's disturbing words:

As it turns out, Mr. Foley has had illicit sex with no one that we know of, and the whole thing turned out to be what some people are now saying was a -- sort of a joke by the boy and some of the other pages ... By midafternoon yesterday, a rumor emerged that in fact Mark Foley had been pranked by the House pages. It is the first plausible thing I've heard in seven days...
For some who may not remember, Dobson is the guy who went ballistic when Sponge Bob was shown "holding hands with Big Bird on a video about tolerance." Yes, he deemed it "shocking[ly] homosexual brainwashing." Yet as Digby observes, "[e]xchanging lewd e-mails with Republican congressman [apparently] is good clean fun."

From here on out, Dobson should have absolutely zero credibility with faithful followers of the Spirit. The Bible states that only one sin is unforgivable -- blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. And indeed, Dobson words condemn him as a false prophet leading his entrusted flock infernally astray with evil lies.
"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. " And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come." (Matthews 12: 30-32)

Comments:
Dobson is a very bad man.

Lest you think I am making up what I am about to post, I am copying directly from Dobson's website here

he is a sicko, as he demonstrates by his words in an article entitled "Can Homosexuality be Prevented and Treated?". These are not Dobson's own words, but are from a manuscript of someone whose work he values. As he notes in the article:

______
It is provided in an outstanding but yet-to-be-published manuscript entitled A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality, written by clinical psychologist Joseph Nicolosi, Ph.D. Dr. Nicolosi is, I believe, the foremost authority on the prevention and treatment of homosexuality today. His book will offer practical advice and a clear-eyed perspective on the antecedents of homosexuality.

Here's the money quote, with the key words in bold

________________
Meanwhile, the boy's father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son's maleness. He can play rough-and-tumble games with his son, in ways that are decidedly different from the games he would play with a little girl. He can help his son learn to throw and catch a ball. He can teach him to pound a square wooden peg into a square hole in a pegboard. He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a penis, just like his, only bigger.

Draw whatever conclusions you deem appropriate, after you get done gagging.

Blasphemy - Theology - Irreverent behavior toward anything held sacred, priceless, etc.

Blowing off (and yes, pun intended) the criminal behavior of Foley toward young male pages in his charge as nothing more than some "sort of a joke," a harmless prank, was blasphemous.

Just ask any child who has ever been molested the lifelong effects of such a violation.

And whether Foley ever had physical sex with any page or not, he was having sex through the Internet, and possibly by phone, the same as any paying "john" to a phone sex hot line or Web site.

what is sacred is the young man's innocense and pure heart that was sullied by Foley.

So let me write it the passage as a mathematical equation:

X + Y = Z

X is Dobson's irreverance
Y is the priceless and sacred state of the page's innocence
C is the unforgivable sin of blasphemy

The Holy Spirit is Truth. Any person who uses their position as leader of the flock to dissemble, is committing a sin against the Holy Spirit.

I believe that by the light you are given, you will be judged.

Now...all animosity between you and me aside, I'm glad my post prompted you to nab your Bible.

Funny, I also believe the Holy Spirit speaks individually to each person as their mission in life calls for.

You obviously are a man of faith and for that I am happy. I love people of faith [not phony Pharisees], whether I politically agree with them or NOT.

There are two groups of people here who have sinned ... Rep Foley, for preying on interns, and the Republican leadership and religious and political pundits who are trying to cover it up or dismiss it.

Your use of the word 'blasphemy' shows typical liberal thinking. Liberals are free to assign any meaning to words that they like.

If you use a word you should understand it's origin. The Hebrew people would be the ones to ask about the word Blashemy. Why don't you ask your local rabbi. He would tell you the following, 'Blasphemy would be to encourage others to have contempt for someone by discounting their nature, to be slanderous.'

Your use of the word shows that you would prefer to use the English lanuage like a hatchet instead of a surgeon's scalpel...

You should read up a little before you spout off... James Dobson isn't the only ones that have said that it was pranking.

Jim Dobson's words...

"As it turns out, Mr. "

There are two ways that a Prophet can error:

1) Utter a fortelling of events that do not come to pass. No errors are allowed, must be 100% correct.

2) Teach others to disobey the commands of God.

Jim Dobson has done neither in this case. If Bill Clinton or Joe Bidden had uttered this words you probably would hail them as great sages of wisdom.

Your words show your ignorance of Biblical principles. And as for you using the Words of Jesus (out of context) to backup your false accusations against a believer: That would be walking on thin ice and many would say that would be extremely close to blasphemy.

Lashon Hara (Hebrew for evil tongue) is a serious sin and if you were punished according to the Bible then you would have what you wished for him... That you:

"should have absolutely zero credibility with faithful followers of the Spirit."

But the faithful probably wouldn't be reading your blog anyway...

Ever notice how hit-and-run conservatives always seem to hide behind "anonymous?"

Greg and Bac,

To back up the post about the 2 errors prophets can make…

When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. Deut 18:22

And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

These two speak for themselves…

As to the claim that Jesus was not a prophet… The following answers that.

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Deut 18:18,19

This is a reference to the coming Messiah ,you know the one that wasn’t a prophet…

Peter said,

“And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.” Acts 3:20-26

Jesus thought he was or he would have corrected this woman…

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. John 4:17-20

As far as hit and run… This is Gospel even if you don’t know me.

Simply put Greg, Dobson did not commit blasphemy. Howling Latina asserted that he did. I was trying to enlighten her as to that fact.

I was glad to help.

Greg & Anonymous --

If either of you is going to be concerned about someone "from a spiritual perspective" your concern is misplaced if it is for HL.

Why are you not concerned for James Dobson, who seeks to protect someone who is preying on young pages?

Or Tony Perkins who is also trying to protect the GOP instead of living according to the scripture of GOD?

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed. Pasaran Bola Bola Tangkas Tangkasnet
