Tom DeLay for Alexandria Councilman?!?

Roll Call via Raw Story reports that disgraced Tom DeLay wants folks in Alexandria to show him some love!

HOH recently discovered an e-mail that was circulating in GOP circles just prior to the Alexandria City Council election earlier this month.

The subject: "Tom DeLay for Alexandria City Council.

"The e-mail, from "citizen kane" read:

"EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE on May 2nd in Alexandria's local election.

"More importantly, send a message to the socialists on the City Council and EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO WRITE IN A CANDIDATE'S NAME.

"The 'Right' Candidate for Alexandria City Council.

"He was also able to defeat Marxism in Eastern Europe; perhaps he can help us defeat Marxism west of the Potomac in Alexandria. Let's drop the 'Hammer' on Alexandria's Politburo!

"Please, write in the name of new Alexandria, VA resident, and former House Majority Leader TOM DELAY!!! Tom DeLay for City Council!"

The sender urged recipients to forward to all Alexandria voters.

Well, the city of Alexandria is as blue as DeLay's former district in Texas was red. Let's see how well Tommie likes the view from the outside looking in.

In the meantime, Alexandria GOPers; you have your "Mission Impossible" order: Make total fools of yourselves as you answer the absurd call to arms.

Like Raw Story reports, no telling how many "write-in votes DeLay wound up getting, since write-in votes were not officially tabulated. "

Obviously DeLay didn't win. But hey, there's always tomorrow, right?!?

Tomorrow
Annie
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs
And the sorrow '
Til there's none!
When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on 'til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!
You're always
A day A way!

Comments:
Hey! I got two votes for Alexandria city council, or so I'm told! We could be councilmembers together, me and Tom Delay. Rumor on the street is that he's moving into my district too...
