Inquiring Minds Want to Know

The media reports that a CIA employee was arrested for releasing classified information to the press.

Dana Priest of the Washington Post won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for "revealing that the CIA was using secret prisons in Eastern Europe to interrogate terrorism suspects"; and Mary McCarthy, a career analyst with the CIA, is accused of being her source.

But as Drew Curtis of Fark.com asks, "If the secret prisons abroad don't really exist, why was McCarthy fired?!?

Moreover, recent news about Condoleeza Rice "leak[ing] national defense information to a pro-Israel lobbyist" and last summer's revelation of Scooter Libby and Karl Rove leaking classified information to Judy Miller, Matt Cooper and others begs the question, 'Why the CIA analyst and not Rice and Rove'?!?

I mean, if administration denials are truthful, then what classified information was leaked?!? And if the United States is indeed using former Soviet satellite countries to advance their own brand of democracy, then why was McCarthy fired for leaking while Rice and Rove continue to work in this administration?!?
