It's Getting Hot in Here...AGAIN~

Just finished a Washington Post article on the Alito nomination and the very last sentence gave me measured pause.

With the goings-on of the last few days and Alito's mastery during his confirmation hearing, my earlier post of an Alito filibuster seemed premature and off the mark.

But now that the Post reports, "[A] group supporting abortion rights, Republican Majority for Choice," is opposing Alito's nomination. And for the record, no less than four Republicans senators are on their advisory board, including Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter.

The remaining congressional senate luminaries are: Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, and Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine.

It sure looks like the Alito run-away train might have hit a boulder. I mean, support from the pro-choice group means the four senators are bound to hold their views close and dear to their campaign wallets; and two of the four members are up for reelection in '06.

Can you say F-i-l-i-b-u-s-t-e-r, boys and girls!

Comments:
I imagine it must be difficult for you to come to grips with the idea of Justice Alito, yet you really don’t have a choice. Make no mistake, Republicans will go ‘nuclear’ over Alito. Subtract Snowe and Chafee, (two prototype RINOs), and Alito still gets in on an up or down vote. Mind you I’m not conceding their votes either.

Besides after TKennedy’s histrionics yesterday, Alito’s future as Justice Alito is sealed. Yes a sad day for lefty-secularists, a good day for the rest of America.

Histrionics were on the side of Sen. Lindsey "Rule of Law -- but only when it's convenient" Graham.

He's the one who made Alito's wife cry, if indeed she was crying.

Let's not forget it was Graham who went over tsetimony and helped to prep Alito before the Committee.

I believe Graham's comment, that upset Mrs. Alito, was made in jest. Maybe the sarcasm was not appropiate, but let's not fool people into believing he was serious.
