Obama's Trump Card

'Race Card' Enters 2008 Election," the Washington Post headlines, referring to the latest ethnic incident with Obama bringing race into the campaign.

The Post is referring to Obama's latest speechifying on how mean Republicans were trying to scare good upstanding folks who cling to guns and the Bible and voted for Hillary and will likely now vote for McCain in November. You see, it's all a grand scheme to spook the beejesus out of inbred voters who just dunno no better.

The Confluence explains:
"So nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face, so what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," he told voters in Springfield. "You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky. That's essentially the argument they're making."
Only a few days ago, Obamazoids began to accuse clear thinking people who dared to note the paucity of Obama's credentials and accompanying presumptiveness as sheer appeals to naked racism of the "thousand cuts" kind.
Calling Barack Obama “presumptuous” is the same as calling him “uppity.” The missing word that is implied with “uppity” is “negro,” or even worse, “n*gg*r” The nuclear weapon of epithets in our country, worse even than “cunt”
Well, let the howler give a shout-out to all the good people who still don't get it. The wild card in this campaign is the race card; the one Obama and supporters trump out every time poll numbers are plunging. But the bad news for the cheats is the number of wild cards in a deck. Hard to play a single hand with more than two jokers. Wily players know when to hold them, when to fold them and when to play their sleight of hand; too much of a good thing leaves no jokers for the future; they've all been played.

And of course that's when a PUMA happens on the scene, calls the trickster's bluff and exposes him to the world for the card playing cheat that he is.

Want to know why Obambi's poll numbers are not so hot? Same reason that Dems at the end of the primary season were not that into the junior senator from Illinois; and it's got nothing to do with racism. A lot of people think Hillary should be the nominee. He's been weighed, he's been measured and he has been found wanting.

As to the latest firestorm about this person or that one making racist comments, Cannonfire says it best: "Give it up...That shit played in the primary, but it just ain't gonna work in the general."

Update: Well at least Obama has dropped the campaigh shtick about "him not looking like 'all those other presidents on those dollar bills.'" Yep, he's all out of wild cards.

Second update: A McCain staffer rightly concludes that Hill and Bill were too timid in fighting off charges of racism. An aide to McCain's campaign, Steve Schmidt decided to call a spade a space.
"He injected this yesterday," Schmidt said. "We are compelled to respond. Tomorrow, if he does not do it again, we will not talk about it again."
