Oops, Obama Aides Misspoke

Last week, Americans were treated to the viral video of Sen. Hillary Clinton stepping off the tarpac in Bosnia minus the fireworks that she'd duplicitous claimed were towering overhead.

Yesterday, to a whole lot less fanfare and ballistic missiles, the story of Obama's misremembered misstatement barely registered a ripple. Perhaps soporific headlines such as "Obama had greater role on liberal survey" generated the over-all snooze.

But here's the scoop you may not have seen or heard.

Last year, Obama aides falsely accused Politico of mischaracterizing a survey that Obama had filled out during his 1996 state Senate run. You see, in the glowy rosy light of a presidential run, Obama was retreating from answers he'd written to a liberal advocacy group in a youthful indiscretion tick.

Heavens, Obama never said he supported single pay health insurance; and he certainly never said he opposed capital punishment. Perish the thought!

Hmmm...

[A] Politico examination determined that Obama was actually interviewed about the issues on the questionnaire by the liberal Chicago nonprofit group that issued it. And it found that Obama — the day after sitting for the interview — filed an amended version of the questionnaire, which appears to contain Obama’s own handwritten notes added to one answer.
