No Immigration Overhaul -- Just Fear!
Sorry Pat, George, Tom, James, Peter, Lou and every flag-waving jingoist out there; no prison time for illegal aliens this year.
The New York Times reports that Republicans "have all but abandoned a broad overhaul of immigration laws and instead will concentrate on national security issues."
Republicans in the House and Senate say they will focus on Pentagon and domestic security spending bills, port security legislation and measures that would authorize the administration’s terror surveillance program and create military tribunals to try terror suspects.Howling Latina doesn't give a crapola how hard Republicans push and how much $$$ they spend trying to sell their lipsticked pig to Americans. Just say no; we'll not give up our constitutional rights just so Junior and his minions can escape accountability for breaking the laws of the land.
Folks, this is going to be all and out war; but the media is on our side this time around. They don't like the thought of the Bush administration eavesdropping on their private phone conversations and e-mail while they talk to their secret sources.
