Webb Will Be On National Radio Address
National leaders chose Fighting Democrat and Virginia Senatorial candidate Jim Webb to give the Democratic national radio address this morning, The Virginian-Pilot reports.
The radio address should help Webb raise his national profile even more and raise some needed funds to overcome Allen's Herculean bankroll in the upcoming race.
Webb's selection "highlights the wide interest in Virginia's Senate race" by party bigwigs.
It's a scorching address by someone who has the stature and authenticity to make the case against all Republicans, which of course specifically includes rubber-stamp George.Democratic responses are posted on the Democratic National Committee site at www.democrats.org/a/press/radio_address.
Webb's text makes no mention of incumbent Sen. George Allen but sketches a line of defense for what is expected to be a barrage of GOP attacks this fall on Webb and other Democratic critics of the U.S. involvement in Iraq.
