Bush Administration is Delirious and Drunk with Power

Trolling through the Internet, horrifying news from Yahoo! News via Buzzflash tells of future nuclear bombing by the Administration.

The lede from Buzzflash is not too far from the truth, "Bush thinking of nuking Iran, and comparing the Iranian president to (sigh) Hitler. Here we go again -- but this time, Operation Restore Bush's Ratings could spark World War III. "

Any misguided attempt to destabilize Iran and bring a government friendly to US interests runs counter to Chinese and Russian interests; and if Bush is stupid enough to go into Iran with bombs and guns ablaze, boy, World War III is definitely in the very near horizon.

Ay Dios Mio, Yahoo notes, "The administration of President George W. Bush is planning a massive bombing campaign against Iran, including use of bunker-buster nuclear bombs to destroy a key Iranian suspected nuclear weapons facility, The New Yorker magazine has reported in its April 17 issue. "

The article is written by Pulitzer Prize investigative journalist Seymour Hersh; and in the past, Hersch has been right on the $$$. From My Lai to Watergate to Kissinger to Camelot to Osama bin Laden to Richard Pearle to Abu Ghraib to Bush's War in Iraq.

And now Hersh warns the nation of the looming plunge into the abyss by Bush and his foreign policy cronies.

Bush and others in the White House have come to view Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a potential Adolf Hitler.

A senior unnamed Pentagon adviser is quoted in the article as saying that "this White House believes that the only way to solve the problem is to change the power structure in Iran, and that means war."

The former intelligence officials depicts planning as "enormous," "hectic" and "operational," Hersh writes.

[...]

In recent weeks, the president has quietly initiated a series of talks on plans for Iran with a few key senators and members of the House of Representatives, including at least one Democrat, the report said.

One of the options under consideration involves the possible use of a bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapon, such as the B61-11, to insure the destruction of Iran's main centrifuge plant at Natanz, Hersh writes.

Is there anyone in America stupid enough to face the guns and firepower of China and Russia with yet another needless war?!?

Update: The Washington Post is also reporting on U.S. "military strike options on Iran." As I indicated above, any strike would totally piss off more than a few strategic countries.

Second Update: Sure hope Bush has different folks reviewing options than the cretins who sexed up the Iraqi intelligence and pooh poohed the threat of a prolonged war.

Comments:
Too late, we bet on the wrong horse; again, no dice with Russia or China.

Do you stupidly think that they're going to sit around and let us control all the Middle East oil...?

Isn't it funny how Bush's investigation into Iran's uranium enrichment program coincides with talk of their accepting Euro's for their oil ... like he cares about uranium enrichment. We all know what this is about. What happens to the U.S. if oil rich countries begin accepting currency other than the U.S. dollar for that oil?? Well, we all know that too ... or we should. This is the real question. Mr. Spalding, this is not about uranium, its not about any apocolypse other than the loss of the value of U.S. dollars if, god forbid, Iran decides that Iranian oil should benefit the Iranian people and they set out to make that happen.
